The raw material used in the production of concrete mainly contains aggregate, powder, admixture, water and so on. Powder includes cement, fly ash, etc. The quality of powder, water, and admixture usually can be assured as long as you purchase them from qualified suppliers while the aggregate must be carefully examined and selected because the quality grade of each aggregate is not fixed.
Aggregates include coarse aggregate such as gravel and crush stone as well as fine aggregate such as sand. They play a role of filling and supporting in concrete. The aggregate has different quality grades which is generally weighed in PLD series batching machine.
The fine aggregate should adopt coarse river sand first because fine sand is finer with more particles. Under the same water cement ratio, fine sand mixing needs much more cement than coarse sand mixing. Besides, the compression strength of fine sand mixing decreases along with the poorer frost resistance and abrasion resistance than coarse sand mixing.
